Analysis: Diaz had been playing well in July, hitting .289 in the month, but his injury opens up a spot for Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to see more playing time. Gurriel has been even hotter in July, hitting .391 since being promoted from Triple-A Buffalo on July 2. He enters Tuesday night's game with a streak of six multi-hit games.
