MLB.com Says
News: Back tightness lands Cubs' Morrow on DL

Analysis: Morrow injured his back taking his pants off early Monday when he got home after the Cubs' road trip. The Cubs are also missing Carl Edwards Jr., who is on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. He was making progress, but there's no timetable for his return. Left-hander Brian Duensing is on the bereavement list and could rejoin the team Friday. So who's the closer? "It'll be a matchup backside, yes," manager Joe Maddon said. Steve Cishek, Pedro Strop and Justin Wilson will likely be the top closing options in Morrow's absence.

Back in the second game of the season, the Mets faced the Nats in D.C. behind Max Scherzer, who was making his debut in orange and blue. (Scherzer followed Tylor Megill, the obvious pick for Opening Day starter.) It didn’t go well for Nats starter Josiah Gray, who was driven from the mound in

The Mets continued their march on the bottom of the National League East with a 7-3 win over the Washington Nationals on Monday. Following a sweep of the Miami Marlins and winners of their last six, the Mets remained on fire against the not-so-flame retardant Patrick Corbin and the Nationals. It was

The trade deadline in Major League Baseball is coming up quickly, as August 2 is just over a week away.  The Tampa Bay Rays have a number of aspects of this year’s team that due to either injury or poor performance needs to be improved.  Come deadline day, I expect the team to take a […]
