Series 22B

Battle of the thoroughly beaten :). G1: Pretty good duel btw Clevinger for SST and Tanaka. No one could score until Aaron Hicks HR'ed in the 7th. 3-0 SST. Fry got the win and Shelby Miller got what is likely to be his last appearance in a Steelhead uni. G2: Who can find a way to lose this one - two highly skilled teams in that respect.....Slayers got 3 off (real-world snake-bitten Yamamoto) - but SST came back with HRs by Solak and 2 by Justin Turner and held on for a 6-5 win. G3: SST's turn to blow one - trailing 3-0 Seattle scored 6 in the 3rd, and Home Run Hoffman (allowed 25 HR in 73 innings) held the lead for a while - but the Slayers pecked along and prevailed 7-6. 3 games

Series 22B

NETPLAY PART DEUX: 1) Pigs jump on Thornton for 3 early runs but promptly go to sleep. Doesn't seem to matter though as Houser puts up six goose eggs. Enter Urena, who Barry recognizes as a member of the 2019 Marlins and gets to work -- Parra 2-run shot brings MNJ within 1 and they tie it in the 8th when Kang singles to right and ends up on third when Franmil whiffs on the pickup, later scoring on a sac fly. But Pigs finally wake up in 11th and Sano and Ramos drive in 3 runs for 6-3 win in opener; 2) Highly unlikely duel between Velasquez and Jordan Zimmermann ends in 5th on McMahon BI single and Alonso 3 run-jack. McMahon then hits bases-clearning double in 6th and Alonso follows with 2-run shot, making is McMahon/Alonso 9, MNJ 0. Pigs look to coast but formerly red-hot Pivetta yields 3 dingers in mop-up role and Doolittle has to retire Kang and Andrus as tying runs to preserve 9-6 NWP win; 3) Lyles goes 7 1/3 strong and Doolittle once again has to come in to save the day, NWP earns sweep 5-3; 3 games

NETPLAY, PART 1: 1) All scoring via solo homer, and Pigs hit 4 of them to MNJ's 2 as Lyle picks up the win, 4-2; 2) Boyd and Glasnow duel but MNJ breaks it open with 6 runs late and coasts 9-2; 3) Seesaw. Rosario 2-run shot puts Pigs up 4-3 in 6th and Pigs load bases in 7th but notch only a single run. With 2 outs in 8th, the immortal Yu Chang steps to the plate and the Pigs outfielders come way in, but Mr. Chang lofts one over Kiki Hernandez's head for an X-Chart double; The Pigs bring Doolittle in for a 4-out save and he promptly yields the game-tying homer to Andrus, and sticks around long enough to yield Teoscar Hernandez' game-winner in the 9th. MNJ takes rubber match 6-5. 3 games
